TRIP Policies and Procedures
TRIP purchases gift certificates in large quantities at a discount and sells them at face value. The discount that is earned is credited to individual tuition accounts less 1% that is retained for the programs expenses. If the discount given is 3% or less TRIP will not retain the 1%. The percentage listed on the order form is the percent that is actually credited to the individuals account.
A registration form must be filled out and returned to the TRIP office. An account number will be assigned to you.
Family, friends and future families of GRCS may participate. These families can also receive an account number and designate their credits to go to their own accounts, disburse them to another families tuition account or to their church’s Christian education account . Certificates can be purchased at any Instant TRIP location. Instant TRIP has certificates that are available for purchase on a cash and carry basis.
Certificates can also be ordered during the school year. Orders can be dropped off at an Instant TRIP location during the operating hours or mailed into the TRIP office; they must be in the office by noon on Wednesday. On the order form designate the school where you would like to pick up the certificates. The certificates will be delivered to the school by Tuesday morning of the following week: certificates can be picked up during normal office hours. In order to have a child pick up the order or have an order mailed back to you the disclaimer on the registration form must be signed.
Orders must be accompanied by a check made payable to PACE-TRIP. Account numbers must be written on all checks received.
A non-sufficient fund (NSF) check will incur a $20 fee. A letter will be sent by the TRIP office informing you of the NSF. We will request that another check be written in the amount of the certificates ordered plus the $20 fee. The TRIP office has the right to hold all future orders until all of the NSF balance has been cleared.
The credits earned for each participating family’s account will be held by TRIP and remitted in total to GRCS twice a year, at the end of November and May. Individual statements of credits earned will be available for pick up at the TRIP office, if they are not picked up after 2 weeks they will be mailed.
If your tuition is paid through FACTS your credit amount will automatically be deducted from your payments, usually in December and May. If you pay directly to GRCS you can deduct your credit amount from any future payment.
All certificates are the same as cash, neither TRIP nor the Grand Rapids Christian Schools can be held responsible for any lost or stolen certificates.
Certificates can not be returned or exchanged. If TRIP makes a mistake in filling an order they will do their best to correct the error as soon as possible.
Certificates are purchased at your own risk. TRIP suggests that certificates be used in a timely manner. TRIP can not be responsible for unused certificates from a retailer that has gone out of business or a certificate or gift card that has expired.
Do not expect change when using certificates
If school is canceled on a Wednesday, instant TRIP will be available at the TRIP office on Thursday.
